Default New Mossy 930 = warm fuzzy feeling.

Broke in my new 930 12ga 18--28" combo today heres how it went....I fired 100rds of Win 1-1/8 oz 1350 #8 dove-clay, 30- Fed 3" mag 15 pellet buckshot & 15 Fed 3"mag 1oz slugs Not in any order and sometimes mixed. While observing home hallway\bedroom and bad breath distance patterns on paper It fired every single round 100% I was most impresed with it. The gun is very light weight though with the auto gas system it has it really makes a diffrence in felt recoil with the 3" magnum defense ammo. After seeing several earlier reviews and the issues with low brass ammo I really expected a few hiccups at least till after 40 or so heavy load shots * VS my Cheetah AK12 this is easy...using the very same ammo as to reliability with low brass and Overall reliability + ease of use ( no stinking gas plug to mess with ) or mags to tote just load n go, win goes to Mossy 930. It took a good 70 mixed rds and 2 hours of polishing internals to help break in the Cheetah vs a quick clean up and shoot out the box. * 930 over Cheetah 12 is jmo your mileage may vary , though priced very close for anyone on the fence Id say go Mossy 930.

It is a great shotgun for the money. The 930 SPX with the pistol grip stock is in my future. I've been banging away on a friend's Model 930 for a year and a half now. Can't jam the thing.

I had the 930 JM pro it was a really cool shotgun but I got rid of it because it would start to act up when it git past around 500 rounds of low brass without cleaning

When clean it was very reliable

It is a great shotgun. I sold my JM 930 Pro this weekend to fund another project. If you are having issues at all with reliability once it gets really dirty, or just want some proactive upgrades, I would HIGHLY recommend getting the SBE Precision Piston.... it is stainless, it ditches 1 factory gas ring, and has a much better overall vented design. I had sub 1% failure rate with the factory piston (at high round counts), but one I ran the SBE, I never bothered to clean the gun after 5+ range trips and it still chugged on everything I offered. It is a big improvement over the factory design and a hell of alot easier to clean than even the factory NiB piston on the JM 930 pro.

they are fantastic shotguns at the price. I already regret selling mine, but hopefully the next project will be worthwhile.

Mossberg must have made revisions since the 930 come out with all the early complaints about jaming low brass ammo or I may have got lucky who knows ? It will cycle a mag full 7+1 of low power 1200 #8 shot. Though I havent hardly given it the full treatment of mixed 1200,1350,#8 low brass mixed up with # 4 shot ,buckshot and deer slugs. A good 250rd mix range fiesta will be more telling. At worse I think it will foul and the light stuff will most likely fail to cycle. Im not ready to use it for self defense just yet. but its good to know its limitations if I decide it needs to be a home defense or truck gun, Id like to be confident in choosing the ammo it likes.

Youtube, "This girl can handle a shotgun" Best 930 porn out there. You might even notice her shotgun as she goes full on politically incorrect in forest management, etc.

I own several 930's including the SPX. If you get one, I recommend it without the pistol grip. My duck gun is a 930 and I'm picking up a JM pro tomorrow night in a trade. They are great shotguns.

The earlier 930's aka the jam a matics had all types of problems. A buddy of mine had one and for years just didn't shoot it. He contacted Mossberg and they told him to send it in but it wasn't in warranty any longer yada yada. He's lazy and stupid and it sat.. I took it from him and sent it in a year and a half ago. Made sure to mention that I had another 930 and a spx etc, they were flawless but this one showed unusual wear patterns. I just had to pay shipping to them and they fixed it.

Mossberg replaced 2 "kits" which was the bolt and most of the items inside the receiver. The gun has been flawless since and used regularly.
