Default All matching byf '44 Kar98k w/ orig sling

1944 Byf K98k 7.92x57 (8mm) Mauser. All matching serials, clean bore and no import mark. This was a GI bring back. Original German military leather sling. For Sale or Trade FTF in Killeen area. I can provide pictures of all matching numbers upon request.

Wanting $1350, I'll trade something as well, but that seems fair if correct.

What says the peanut gallery???

I'd say that's a pretty good deal. Has it been duffle cut (not that it still wouldn't be a good deal, just curious)? Just for the rifle with matching numbers, hasn't been refinished, and has no import marks, it's a good deal. Add in a German sling, and it's a great deal, in my opinion.

Good luck and hope we get to see pics!

Mauser factory (BYF) was almost entirely exhausted forced labor by 44. How is the fit/finish? Barrel band welds can tell a lot.

Steve from the link that you sent me, it looks like a good rifle and priced right. It would be nice to have more pictures, like I told you it looks a lot like my BYF 43 except it looks like it has a laminate stock and mine is solid wood.

yeah I'd like to see it my self. I have a BYF K98k RC and I thought I stole it at $600. Didn't have the typical RC shellac and such.

I'd say if it's a bring back with a duffel cut, $1350 is a great deal. Need to see the bands and stock too. Should have some "kriegsmodell" features in it.

I'm doing some serious horse dealing now,

Trying to secure it till 4/21and maybe doing a straight trade for an AK of one variety or another... Trying to work that out now.. I'd even do cash, but the gun trade will convince them to save till after 4/21... Take cash and a gun, do which ever they choose.... They have voiced a very serious interest in AKs...

I'm totally foaming at the mouth... Geez...

If you have pictures I suggest posting them on k98kforum or gunboards.

If truly all matching that is an good deal. But like someone else said these were late war and there seems to be a few variations of these.

if you reload then add that to your die collection... 8mm Mauser is easy to reload for.

From the pictures I would say that it is likely to be from early 1944 rather then late 1944.

I had a 44 BYF that i sold a few years ago. Seemed to favor the 150 gr tips (with RL15) over anything else i tried. My Yugo and Czech prefer heavier loads. Really liked the bolt disassebly hole built into the stock on the German mauser.

The seller is a girl,

Or his name is Ashley, LOL..! Jak se mat you're closer to Killeen Texas than me, that's where the rifle is located.

Hoping she'll do a straight AK trade. And I've managed to score a decent surplus of 8mm Mauser now... One day I might reload cuz plenty of good reloaders here willing to help.

I’ve got some “rainy day” corrosive 8mm also. Mostly Yugo and Turkish. Most of my 8mm cases are repurposed 30-06 brass.

Good luck with your trade.

I knew that was going to happen

Something like that doesn't stick around. What on Earth kept you from getting it earlier?

Byf44 is the most common byf rifle to find ,,,,,BUT THATS A GOOD DEAL IF ITS ALL ORIGINAL AND IN GOOD SHAPE. Don't give up, maybe he hasn't sold it yet.
