Holy shit dude, you stole it at that price! On the right hand side of the receiver right above the trigger, see if there is an import mark or Germany. It will be very small on the receiver
Right above the locking bolt. Damn fine score!!!

That's a beauty , Steve.

I had a 1938 all #s matching one I got for $150, back in 1979.

Great pistol. Wish I still had it. :straight

You did good, likely closer to $1000. Sucks no magazine but OK reproductions can be had.

Actually, for the mag, give me a sec

Sometimes I like the shooter grade collectibles better....... I recently bought a 1918 Erfurt all matching including the wooden bottom mag, I can’t shoot for fear of a matching part breaking...... yes I agree actual value somewhere around $1000 nice snag!

Another nice pick up. At today's prices on P-08's, especially Third Reich era ones, I think you did very good even for a mismatch. The toggle should be marked S/42 not BYF as that is a later Mauser code. In 1937 I believe by the U suffix they were dip bluing the small parts (trigger, take down lever, safety etc) that were previously straw colored so that is correct on this one. That later type extruded FXO magazine is a nice addition and worth some $ by itself. Do you have a M-95 Steyr carbine or rifle to go with your new ammo?

I don’t have a M-95. Ammo is for collecting only

But maybe I should get a M-95..........

I've got some it laying around for the same reason. Those ammo boxes are nicely marked. Someone had turned four boxes of it in at the range and they gave it to me along with the other military calibers that they know I have.

Damn nice and lucky.

Does that shop owner call you when something cool comes in or do you just have to keep popping in to catch those deals?

One shop I go to a lot, I will stop in every other day for a couple of weeks and then BOOM, something cool shows up (not as cool as your stuff). Then I can do this for a month straight and freaking nothing.

It's almost like fishing, lol. Cant catch the big one, if you don't have a line in the water.

Nice pick up at a great price! That will make a very nice shooter!

I had hundreds of rounds of that M95 8mm ammo in the same boxes with stripper clips, they must have found a whole warehouse of that stuff in some East Bloc country when the wall fell down.

You should post a picture of the mag in the luger forum. Some of them are worth a fortune. Those guys are experts on these works of art.

Its a good shooters grade pistol. Very little collectable value there at all.

But a really decent shooter grade if it shoots okay.

Interestingly, I have had collectors grade 99.9% pistols with dark pitted bores.

Go figure. I finally figured out it was all bullshit and liquidated $15,000 worth of Lugers 12or so years ago.

For a Luger, OP is in the sweet spot.

Yeah, loading without one is a BITCH

I took it out today, along with some other Wehrmacht pistols

Shot pretty good

The FB Radom takes the cake though. That pistol is purely amazing

That's a really nice P08. Nobody could build and sell a new one for $650, that's for sure.

BTW, I have the carbine version of an M-95. Kicks like a mule, and the muzzle blast is impressive. Fun rifle.

Personally, I think your VIS 35 is way more interesting than any P08.

P08's are actually as common as dirt, VIS 35, not so much.

It’s a late war model. No import marks either
