Default Pm-63

If you don’t like pioneers AK, you can go buy one from one of 50 other manufacturers......we don’t have many choices when it come to pm-63s lol

Misha,

Have you noticed some faint Arsenal markings on the receiver? Mine has them....I haven’t fully disassembled but could it be that the receivers are modified milsurus and not new manufactured semi auto?

First, we know its ATF approved, and second we 'hope' it is a working system lol.
We'll see after some range time Friday.

The ATF approved these a long time ago. So that wasn't the hold up. It was getting them over here and distributed tat took so long.
Classic Firearms has the exclusive on these, for now at least.

Centerfire has not had a single one in stock. They were going to get them but PAC-USA pretty much blackballed them and switched over to Classic Firearms after the whole PAC AKM Sporter thing.
After I reported to them and showed CFS Rob's video, they had some serious questions for PAC. So instead of actually addressing them and improving that AKM, PAC just jumped ship. Classy (pun intended) eh?

I don't think CFS will be getting any. Also i can tell you that I've been pretty tight with them for a decade+ and they are good people. I know what distributer cost was going to be n the PM-63c last year...so its pretty safe to assume it hasn't changed much this year.
CFS was going to pay over $1k per pistol easily...so dealer price something like $1.2k and retail $1.4k.

So i don't think we'll see Classic selling them for $600 anytime soon.

Keep in mind that circle11 ?Radom didn't build a million of these. The original PM-63 was a special purpose weapon, so was produced in relatively small numbers.
On top of that, many were already cut up and sold off as parts kits, so who knows how many parts PAC has over there? I am sure more than enough to make several thousands, but probably nothing like those PPS-43c pistols.
And that's why I am willing to have one of these. Still most of the parts are original cirlce11, including the slide and barrel.
The frame is PAC and yeah probably cast or something, but lets be honest, these are firing 9x18 Makarov. Not exactly the hottest round in town. So hopefully even PAC's questionable metalergy can stand up to that for awhile.
And if not, i'll use one of the frames from one of my kits and replace.

I've been told these will only be imported in limited numbers as they understand there just aren't that many guys wanting a 9x18, Polish, semi-auto converted MG pistol, and that costs North of $1k.
But hey, at least mags are available cheap for these, so that helps somewhat.

I have 2 of the PPS43cs, and both have worked well for me. So we'll see how these PM-63cs do soon.
Agreeing to, converting something like the PPS to semi-auto is relatively easy and straight forward. The PM-63 though? yeah i bet it wasn't a cakewalk to get something worked out that would both satisfy the ATF and still work reliably.

I don't really mind the welded stock either since it was next to useless on the original SMG to begin with.

Just happy after so many years that these are finally available. Really completes my Polish collection as well as my 9x18 collection.
Standing by for any and all semi conversion info. Have couple kits myself.

Yep. Need semi conversion pieces / info please. Good dimensions on everything would be good so somebody could put them in cad.

Haven't had time to take one totally apart. I'll let you know about the frames asap though.

With the PPS43c, PAC did use parts of the original SMG receiver + a newly made semi-auto rear section.
So maybe they did the same with these?

Again, rearding PAC...issue with the AKM Sporter was that it was 100% new and PAC made.
With both their converted SMGs, most of the parts are still original circle11 Radom.
And hey, at least headspace isn't a concern, so there's that lol.

Looks like there are two inspection rollmarks (similar to ones found on my p64). They are next to the edge of the right grip panel (top left edge). I’m no familiar with the pm63 but if it has a standalone trigger housing like an uzi or mp5, then these rollmarks will likely be on the housing and not on the receiver. It’s hard to tell without taking it apart.

Unless they made alot of big changes to the lower it is mostly monolithic.
The trigger guard is a separate piece, but the frame itself is mostly one piece otherwise.

Yeah ok, right....get the blind guy to do the very first disassembly of this thing ever.....

Well I can say it was a learning experience at least.

I tore the thing totally down. Its very easy to remove it all, except for the stock.

The FCG is simple and should do fine.

I am here alone still, so o one to ask about markings, but yeah the frame sure seems to have signs of pieces being welded together.
Barrel has rollmarkings too.

I'll record something with this thing in pieces + compare it with a parts kit why not?

question, anyone know where the sling attaches to?

On the original there is a small lug sticking down just in front of the stock mount on the left side, it appears to be missing on the semi auto pictured. Looks like some of the FCG pins are in that area so they probably had to leave it off.

Went last night......phone was dead so couldn’t take a video....put 250 rpds steel case monarch (academy brand) downrange.....not a single hiccup. Still waiting anxiously on misha’s experience with it at the range....he said he’d take it out today....we’ll see....hopefully he has the same great experience I did. Not having a sling mounting point is an issue but the pistol is small enough to shoot it just like normal handgun.....I’ll tell you one thing! Don’t get this gun if you don’t like strangers coming up to you at the range and striking conversations....lol this little guy was drawing a crowd and getting some looks. They’re all like what is that thing!!!?? Ha ha

The frame is clearly made from an original military part judging by the inspection stamps.

So has anyone had one at the range yet? I am curious about reliability, normally open bolt conversions are iffy although it seems simple enough.

Just watched his video......having now put almost 500 rds thru mine I had the exact same experience as misha. I was very pleasantly surprised at how reliable and fun to shoot this gun is! It’s a hoot. I gotta say I bet the couple of issues he had May have been related to a loose grip. Such a large slide with a Makarov round needs a firm grip for the slide to fully travel back. Out of 500 rounds I had 4 failures to feed and all 4 rounds happened within the first 25rds my wife shot. Once she firmed up the grip she put 150 rdsdownrage (same mag and same ammo) with no malfunctions. Sbr’ing would definately help in this area

Quick question....has anyone heard of atf guidance on sbrs and 922r? I’ve seen a lot of back and forth on it in the web but never anithing conclusive....I’d love to sbr this thing but it would be imposible if 922r is required....I don’t think theyll be enough volume of these for manufacturers to make 922r parts

Kinda curious about this myself, I was hoping they would bring more in, and the prices would slowly trickle down.

Trickle down? Ahahaha.

When is the last time you seen any prices on milsurp "trickle down"?

Especially after Classic sells out of something.....

I can just see the "Grab yours" for $1999 now.

Thatís what happened with the psl54s and cugir rpks.....once they saw what they were bringing in the secondary market...century started importing them at secondary market prices....&2k for a psl and $1.5k for an rpk...haaaaaa
