... then get mags and more ammo.

...shoot it more.

...rinse and repeat.

Undercut the trigger guard and grind off the finger bumps. Get a Talon grip

This was probably a common question in 1999

Probably the most common pistol in America. No need to worry. It is a great gun. If you don't like it, they are quick/easy to sell.

Most all of the Generation 3 models with serial numbers that start with E as in Exx-xxx, had defective frame rails.

Glock claims some of Exx series may not have the weaker rails, but most all seem to.

Glock never issued a recall, but does do free frame replacements for that series, if they determine it came with the weaker rails.

Glocks says the rails are not defective, but will, "upgrade" the frames if they were made during the time the then new rails were being used.

For a while the replacement frame came from Germany and had the same Exx-xxx serial number with a -1 (dash 1) .added to the number.

Later Glock started using frames with new replacement serial numbers.

The replacement frame serial numbers are different from complete pistol serial numbers.

If a 1 is added to the serial number, the frame has already been replaced.

The defective frame rails were made of stronger steel than before, but the angle of the rails was a sharp 90 degree corner that caused them to be weaker.

The non-defective frame rails have a curved radius for the 90 degree change from vertical to the horizontal top portion of the rails.

Reportedly, none of the other serial number ranges in the Generation 3 models got the defective frame rails.

If you're going to do that get a different model..

I have a gen 3 model 17. Basically it is boringly reliable and decently accurate.

+1

If you take a Dremel or soldering iron to a Glock, then that's your Glock for eternity in my opinion...

What are you guys talking about? Night sights, stippling, undercut, and magwell takes a $450 Glock and turns it into a $650 Glock. Armslist and AR15com told me so.

They are Glocks. So they work and if you like Glocks they are great. I like to sand the little trigger safety dingus so it doesn't stick out past the trigger face at full pull. Maybe it's just me but that always pisses me off when it's cold as all hell and my finger tip is on the thin little dingus instead of the trigger face. Obviously this is only when you pull the trigger completely and have fired and are waiting to release and reset.

I agree with you there. But I mainly notice after about April I'm not like that anymore.

The Gen3 Glock 19 is still the best Glock ever made.

I do the same shit.
Also prefer the Glock brand minus connector, smooth trigger shoe off the model 17, and the extended slide stop off the model 34.

+1 to that! The finger bumps we're a terrible idea and a large reason why I prefer the Gen 1&2 models. Never noticed how much the under cut helps until I got a Poly 80 Glock.

The grips with the finger bumps are smaller around than the earlier frames.

They first showed up on the 45 ACP and 10mm models that had the fattest grip frames.
